What is the Price and deadlines to register? 

VI DISA GC Marathon • 20th January – 31st October, 30 € • 1st November – 31st December, 40 €  • 1st January 2015 – 9th January 2015, 50 €   DISA GC XIV Half Marathon  • 20th January – 31st October, 20 € • 1st November – 31st December, 30 €  • 1st January 2015 – 9th January 2015, 40 €   10 KM race of the VI DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2015 • 20th January – 31st October, 10 € • 1st November – 31st December, 15 €  • 1st January 2015 – 9th January 2015, 20 € NOTE: Runners aged 16-17 years old by the 10K race day will be able to apply during the whole registration period by paying the starting price (10€). .

When and what time will be the start of the race?

 

Marathon and Half Marathon races will take place on Sunday 25th January 2015 at 9h. The 10K race will be on the same day but starting earlier at 8h20. .

How the start of the race will be organized?

 

The start will be organized by different corrals according to the finish time esteemed: MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON   CORRAL MARATHON HALF MARATHON Corral 1 Up to 2h50’  Up to 1h24’ Corral 2 From 2h51´ to 3h0’ From 1h25’ to 1h30´ Corral 3 From 3h 01´ to 3h 30´ From 1h31’ to 1h 45’  Corral 4 More than 3h31’ More than 1h46’ Runners are required to be in their assigned corral from 8:15 to 8:50am (closing time). Runners who are not in their corral at 8:50am must join the last corral.   10K RACE Corral 1 10 KM RACE Corral 2 Up to 40’ Corral 3 From 41’ to 50’ Corral 4 More than 51’ Runners are required to be in their assigned corral from 4:45 to 8:15am (closing time). Runners who are not in their corral at 8:15am must join the last corral.   NOTE: Your starting corral is printed beneath your runner's number on your bib. .

What time should I be at the start area of the race?

 

If you need to leave your belongings in the checkroom, we recommend you to arrive at least one hour earlier in order to avoid masses. Checkroom’s closing time: Marathon and Half Marathon: 8:45 am
10 K: 8:10 am Otherwise, if you expect to go straightaway to the starting line, we recommend you to arrive 30’ earlier. .

Where does the race start and finish?

 

The race will start at the Av. Industrial José Sánchez Peñate and will finish around the Auditorium Alfredo Kraus, at the Plaza de los Jardines del Atlántico. .

Where will be located the refreshment points?

 

Refreshments points will be located roughly at the following distances: Half Marathon/Marathon: 5/27, 10/31, 15/36, 20/41, 22 and finish line. 10K race: 4, 9, and finish line. .

How do I do my entry?

 

Latest date to register on the website or in our office is 9th January 2015 at 12pm. A. Online registration: • Fill the form up with your personal information and make your payment by credit card. Once the payment has been completed, you will receive a confirmation email. B. Registration at the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon Office: • You can come to our office located at C/ Fondos de Segura s/n, Estadio de Gran Canaria, Floor 0 from Monday to Friday at 9:00am - 14:00pm. • You will need your Identity Document and the exact amount of your race. .

Where and when can I pick my bib number up?

 

Runners can pick the numbers in the Expo at the Palacio de Congresos de Canarias / Auditorium Alfredo Kraus. • Thursday 22nd January 2015, 4pm – 21:00pm. • Friday 23rd January 2015, 09:00am - 21:00pm. • Saturday 24th January 2015, 09:00am - 21:00pm. .

Can I pick my bib number up the day of the race?

Do I need any document to pick my runner’s bag?

 

Runners must present an official identity document (ID, Passport…) in order to pick the runner’s bag and the bib number. The bib number will be only handed in the runner. .

Is it mandatory running with the bib number?

 

Yes, it is. Following the Specific Regulation of the RFEA, bib numbers must be put on properly across your abdomen or your chest during the whole race. Runners will receive a personal chip that should be put on the runner’s shoes. NOTE: You agree to return the electronic chip at designated points located near to the finish line of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2015. .

Is there any place where to leave our belongings the day of the race?

 

Yes. There will be a checkroom where the runners of the VI DISA Gran Canaria Marathon and the XIV DISA Gran Canaria Half Marathon could leave their runner’s bags on Sunday 25th January 2015 until 08:45am. This place will be in the Palacio de Congresos de Canarias / Auditorium Alfredo Kraus. For the 10K runners, the checkroom will be open until 8:10am. The only bag that will be accepted at the checkroom placed in the Expo will be the official runner’s bag of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon. In order to pick the bag up again, the runner must show her/his big number. The checkroom will be open until one hour after the official closing of the races, 4pm. The runner’s bag remaining in the checkroom after 4pm will be taken to the office of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon until 1st March 2015. .

What will be the categories in Marathon and Half-Marathon?

 

The categories for the marathon and the half marathon are the following: • A. ABSOLUTE MALE AND FEMALE: the first three of each race • B. JUNIOR MALE AND FEMALE (born in 1996 and 1997) • C. PROMISE MALE AND FEMALE: (born in 1993, 1994, 1995) • D. SENIOR MALE AND FEMALE: (born in 1992 and earlier). • E. VETERANS MALE AND FEMALE (according to age groups). o a. M35 / W35 - From 35 to 39 years old on the race day o b. M40 / W40 - From 40 to 44 years old on the race day o c. M45 / W45 - From 45 to 49 years old on the race day o d. ◦ Being the Marathon and Half Marathon included in the national and international calendar RFEA, there will be a mandatory drug test. Any runner refusing to pass this test after being appointed to pass it will be automatically disqualified in all categories and prizes that may have won and his decision formally denounced to the competent bodies of the RFEA. Thus, athletes who pass this check and entitled to receive a prize money must await the outcome to receive the award. .

Where can the finishers withdraw their prize money?

 

Delivery of prizes will take place EXCLUSIVELY at the Secretariat of the event, located in a space reserved at the Palacio de Congresos de Canarias / Auditorio Alfredo Kraus from 11am to 5pm on 25 January 2015. The runners must show their personal documentation. • Those athletes who, being entitled to the prize money for the position reached in the final rankings, do not withdraw it within the time indicated by the organization will lose the right to it. .

What are the categories for the 10Km race?

 

Categories for the 10 km race of the VI DISA Gran Canaria Marathon are made according to the following table: • A. ABSOLUT MALE AND FEMALE: the first three of each race • B. YOUTH MALE AND FEMALE (born in 1998 and 1999) • C. JUNIOR MALE AND FEMALE (born in 1997 and 1996) • D. PROMISE MALE AND FEMALE (born in 1993, 1994, 1995) • E. Can I change the race I chose at the beginning?

 

Changing race or distance will be allowed ONLY up to December 9, 2014 at 2pm and only from a longer race to a shorter one. No refund is possible for the cash difference. .

Can I cancel my registration?

 

Once you have registered, the cancellation will not be allowed. ONLY in case of injury and showing a medical proof until 25 November, the runner will be refunded 50% of the amount. .

Can I transfer my registration to other person?

 

Registration transfer is not allowed. .

Is there a limit of entries?

 

There is a maximum of 1.500 participants for the VI DISA Gran Canaria Marathon and 3.500 runners for the VI DISA Gran Canaria Half Marathon. • There is a maximum of 3.500 registered participants for the 10 km race. • Once the maximum of registrations in any race have been reached (even before the registration deadline), it will be announced and the registration will be closed. .

Is there an age limit to apply?

 

All runners who complete successfully the registration process in time, being licensed or not and foreign athletes can participate according to the RFEA and IAAF regulation in the Marathon and Half-Marathon of Gran Canaria 2015. Participants must be 18 years old on the day of the race. • All runners who complete successfully the registration process in time, being licensed or not and foreign athletes can participate according to the RFEA and IAAF regulation in the 10Km race. Participants must be 16 years old on the day of the race. .

How will be the electronic timing?

 

The timing of the three main races of the VI DISA Gran Canaria Marathon will be set by a single system of electronic timing. Each participant will receive a personal chip that should be placed on the shoes. Runners must return the chip to the organizers after the race. • Only participants who performed the race with the bib number and the chip given by the organization will appear on the qualification list. Once the runner pick up the chip at the Expo, must check that it is working to the stand selected by the organization. • The official race time of the runners will be the time between crossing the start line (starting shot) and crossing the finish line. Anyways, the so-called "net time", time since crossing the start line until crossing the finish line, will be provided to the runner. .

Is there a limit time to finish the races?

 

A time limit of 6 hours is set to complete the course of the VI DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2015. The arrival control will close at 3pm. Likewise the Half Marathon will have limit time of 3 hours, closing the control at 12:00 (noon). • The 10 km race of the VI DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2015 will have an expected limit time of 1.40 hours and the organization may close the control of the arrival at 10am, if necessary for organizational needs. .

What if I forget my bib number and chip on the race day?

 

You won't be able to participate in the race and you will be disqualified. .

Do I have to run with the official shirt of the race?

 

It is not mandatory wearing the official shirt of the race. .

There will be massage services after the race?

 

There will be a physiotherapy service for the runners of the distances Marathon and Half Marathon in the space provided for that purpose by the organization in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium. .

How can I do my login?
