The organization of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon has thrown itself into this edition since the last runner crossed the finish line on 2014.
A detailed study to improve the course, a new website, the opening of the organization office staff several months before the race day and the research of the best services to offer the runners are some of the matters that have been taken in consideration.

The DISA Gran Canaria Marathon grows every year in number of participants, activities and facilities, increasing the number of workers in this event, all coordinated by the working team of the Instituto Insular de Deportes.
Volunteers have been and will still be a very important part of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon, as they are for all the big events. Their work is fundamental for the development of all the parallel acts of the events and especially on the day of the three main races: Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10Km.

Last July, as a new commitment of the Centro Insular de Deportes in order to improve the services of this great sportive event, the new website of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon was put in operation (www.grancanariamaraton.com) offering a new portal design and some innovative sections.
Starts the first edition of the medals design contest of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2015.
You can submit your designs for the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10 K medals and also for the kids race medal until the 15th of September.
The first edition of the medal design contest of the DISA Gran Canaria Marahon 2015 is under way. An iniciative what will permit whom wants to participate for the contest with their designs for the winner medal which will be given next 25th of January at some of the three main races, Marathon, Half Marathon and 10 K, or the 24th of January at the Kids race.
From the 22nd of July until the 15th of September it will be possible to deliver the medal designs, which have to be regulated by the contest guidelines which are available in www.grancanariamaraton.com.
Participants of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2014 who have not their certificate yet can download it from the website with the official result www.grancanariamaraton.com
To download your certificate, please click on the 'History' section of the website, then enter 'Participants' and click “2014”. Certificates are organized by race and time.
In this way, each participant can find their own certificate, with their name and official time both printed, searching for the position and time.
These certificates are the official ones and certify the participation and the finish time for each runner in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10 Km of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2014.
“DISA Gran Canaria Marathon will have a new route as well as a new place for the runners village on 25 January 2015”, announced Lucas Bravo de Laguna (Minister of Sports of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria).
First of all, Mr. Bravo de Laguna thanked in the launch ceremony the presence of Pablo Barbero, Counselor for Economic Development, Tourism and the Ciudad de Mar of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Municipality, and Loli Saavedra, Head of Brand Marketing Department of DISA (main sponsor of the race).
The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium area will host the starting and finishing points of the races. Also the Expo will be located in this area.
As Bravo de Laguna explained, “this change is needed because the race is growing every year and Venegas St. has become small.
Enterprises can register their own team in any of the 3 races: Marathon, Half Marathon and 10Km.
The DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2015 will celebrate once again the Race by Enterprises, where the runners compete individually but at the same time they will add points for their enterprise’s team.
In this already traditional category, the enterprises can register a team in the 3 races: Marathon, Half Marathon and 10Km. All employees must be officially registered and being +18 years old for the Marathon and Half Marathon and +16 years old for the 10Km on the race day.
The new start and finish line will be located at the Auditorium Alfredo Kraus area, where the Gran Canaria Expodeporte, the Charity Race and the Kids Race will also be held.
The new location of the start and finish line, the omission of the Port area, the increase of meters at the oldtown, Vegueta, and the omission of tight and two-way streets, are the main important changes of the new course.
