The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium area is the place where will be located the start and finish of the three major races, the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km, and where, in addition, the Runners' Fair will be located and the now traditional Kids Race and Solidarity Race will be held. As Bravo de Laguna explained, “this change is needed because the race continues to grow every year but Venegas street and us stayed small. Moreover, the area of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium is one of the most emblematic of the city and the island. Relocation to this area will mean more convenience for the organization, the runners and the general public as well, as well as being the perfect place to promote the city.”
In their effort to close as soon as possible all the details of this macro event, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria "wanted to have sooner than ever closed and approved the circuit of the Marathon and Half Marathon, so riders know further in advance the characteristics of the course and whereby the race passes. We're trying to professionalize the race every year more and for that we are working, " the Minister of Sports said.
Besides the change of location of the start and finish, "another of the most prominent changes is that this edition does not run inside the port, serving one of the most demanded requests by runners, that is whom we have heard more to realize all these changes" continued Bravo de Laguna.
