Hyundai Canarias cars will serve as a clock-car to show elite runners the right route and the time spent in the distance.

DISA Gran Canaria Marathon is being promoted in many places of the world; this August it has been present at the Helsinki City Marathon.

An agreement has been signed this week between DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2015 and Hyundai Canarias, which will be the official car of the marathon, supporting by second consecutive year this event and its commitment to the sport on the island. Mr. Lucas Bravo de Laguna, Minister of Sports of Cabildo de Gran Canaria, and Idaira Santana, Marketing Assistant at Hyundai Canarias attended to the signing ceremony.

“We are glad that Hyundai Canarias becomes by second consecutive year the official car of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon. It is very important and essential to add this kind of private support because this event is growing to offer the best services to the runners. For this reason, I would like to thank Hyundai Canarias for its support that I am sure will be worthwhile”, said Mr. Lucas Bravo de Laguna.

 

“The aim of Cabildo de Gran Canaria is joining efforts to stand up to the great magnitude that is taking year by year and for this, the private capital is essential. Sincerely, companies have realized the importance of this event and its worldwide promotion so there are a lot of them interested in collaborate with this big project”, added Mr. Bravo de Laguna.

Idaira Santana expressed “on behalf of Hyundai Canarias, we are pleased to be supporters in this marathon. Hyundai Canarias bet on young people and sports and we believe that this event is very important for people from Gran Canaria. The impact of the event will help us strengthen our image and to show that Hyundai Canarias is growing and investing in young people and athletes”.

Helsinki ‘met’ the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon

Since early this year, DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2015 is being promoted across the world, as well as the island and the characteristics of the race thanks to the agreement between Cabildo de Gran Canaria and Turespaña.

A stand of the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon 2015 welcomed more than thousands of runners and visitors at the fair of the Helsinki City Marathon.

The Canary marathon will also be promoted in Stockholm, Oslo and Berlin (September); Lisbon, Munich, Amsterdam and Frankfurt (October); and Oporto or New York, Athens and Florence (November).

It has already been present in Spanish cities as in Madrid, Barcelona and it will also be in Valencia. Cabildo and the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria bet high for this promotion, essential for the island, the city and the DISA Gran Canaria Marathon.

The 'Gran Canaria EXPODEPORTE' will be the biggest sport expo in the Canary Islands, where there will be more than 50 stands of several sports and related sectors. More than 20.000 people of all ages will visit this expo. It will take place at the Palacio de Congresos de Canarias, in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of January 2015.
